Calling all advocates and pioneers of Black professionals in the US, BYP Network is bringing a format of its celebrated annual BYP Leadership Conference across the Atlantic with a hybrid event on 19 May 2023 at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City.
This Summit will take from the theme of the fourth edition of its pivotal BYP Leadership Conference ‘Knowledge is Power’, held in UK Black History Month last October. A conference created in 2018 for Black professionals and enterprises looking to diversify their workplaces.
The event is set to impart insights regarding corporate America: how to get to the top; changing the Black narrative; recession-proofing: how to survive through the downturn; and uniting across borders in order to advance globally.
The keynotes and informative sessions are curated to empower leadership journeys by looking at accountability in businesses and governments and breaking societal norms to end the cycle of inequality for a more just and truthful world, and celebrating the successes of those who have changed the narrative and encouraged greater diversity in entertainment and entrepreneurship.
Attendees can expect to hear from numerous inspiring and engaging speakers and meet hundreds of fellow community members with a range of experience levels.
Kike Oniwinde Agoro, Founder and CEO of BYP Network said: “Following the success of our annual BYP Leadership Conference in the UK, we are delighted to be bringing it over to the US this year, for the first time, and growing our community of over 150K professionals even further. This Summit will cover both proven popular topics as well as dive into new issues around corporate America and recession-proofing your career.
We are excited to welcome hundreds of Black professionals to hear from some of the most trailblazing speakers across various industries, including figures from our headline sponsor Capco, who have been a brilliant partner with BYP for multiple years. With many Black Lives Matter pledges evidencing to be performative, it is vital that we make our mark in the US to show that we are here to continue to stand up for Black professionals and lead on changing the Black narrative. Our expansion in the US is part of our mission to advance the careers of 10 million Black professionals.”
Dee McDougal, Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Capco said: “We are proud to partner with the Black Young Professionals Network to support the expansion of its Leadership Conference to the United States. Over the past several years, we’ve had the opportunity to attend and contribute to BYP’s UK Leadership Conference, and have subsequently welcomed several new Capco colleagues through the connections we made. Through our partnership, the BYP team has helped us to drive forward our strategy to attract and advance Black talent. We look forward to a successful inaugural US event.”
BYP Network will also be holding an edition of this Summit in Atlanta on May 26, 2023.
