Statistically speaking, we’ve all booked travel via Expedia Group’s platform at least once since their inception in 1996. The company currently ranks third among the world’s largest online travel Platform. With a presence in more than 70 countries, Expedia is intrinsic to the travel ecosystem.
The online travel industry has a reputation for lacking gender and racial/ethnic diversity in executive roles. Studies show that the most prolific, well-connected investors in travel tech are all white men. With team members like Jennifer D. Moore at the heart of the company, Expedia Group aims to change these narratives.
Moore is a vibrant Associate Market Manager and advocate of inclusion and diversity at Expedia Group. Like many Black professionals, her journey started in a completely different field.
The Texas State University alum earned her Bachelor of Art’s degree in Mass Communications in Journalism. After graduating, she launched her career in public relations with one of the top PR firms in Los Angeles, California. Moore achieved great success, working with clients like the GRAMMYs, Emmy Awards, and Variety.com. After almost five years, she realized this was not the path that made her truly happy.
Moore admits that travel has always been a major ingredient in her life. She lived in Germany as a child and enjoyed traveling through South America, The Bahamas, and Europe as an adult. She eventually accepted her true calling was traveling and changed directions to land her current role.
As a leader within Expedia Group’s Inclusion Business Groups (IBG), Moore champions a range of the company’s public efforts to strive for inclusivity. They create a sense of belonging for employees, partners, travelers, and communities.
Moore shares more about her journey below.
