Derived from the background of BYP Network’s CEO and Founder, Kike Oniwinde Agoro, as a javelin thrower for Great Britain, the name Javelin holds deep significance. It not only pays homage to the Founder’s athletic journey but also symbolises the concept of propelling oneself from point A to point B in a career or life, with strength, speed, and dynamism, to hit the target one desires. Just as a javelin is a warrior’s weapon, Javelin aligns with the notion of Black individuals being strong fighters, resilient against obstacles and systemic oppression.
As a TalentTech scaleup committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, BYP Network has consistently championed the advancement of Black professionals across various industries. With the introduction of Javelin, the organisation now offers a cutting-edge platform that empowers Black talent, enabling them to excel in their careers by connecting them with carefully curated opportunities from BYP’s esteemed global corporate partners. To use the platform, all BYP members have to do is create a profile including skills, previous experience and career objectives.
