My Name is Patience. I work for Sky as a Site Reliability Engineer. I was in the Royal Navy for nearly 10 years, and I left as a Petty Officer in Supply Chain which is equivalent to middle management in civilian street after being medically discharged. I then decided to retrain into a career in Tech and I joined Sky in May 2019. I am a member of the Sky Armed Forces and Diversity & Inclusion Networks as this is something I am really passionate about which is why in my spare time I mentor individuals who are trying to get into Tech. I believe representation is also key to increasing Diversity and Inclusion which is why I also work with the younger generation in my local community including Girl Guides to encourage them to consider STEM subjects in high school.
