Senior Product Manager

£70k – £80k

We’re looking for an outstanding and experienced Senior Product Manager to join the Leadership Team and shape the journey of building a seamless and best in class platform which connects the BYP Community to each other and to Allies / Commercial Partners. 

As part of the Leadership Team, you’ll enjoy operating both strategically and tactically, with the  ability to solve problems and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Your role will be critical in enabling BYP to expand across countries and industries, so we can continue delivering Impact  at scale.  

The Product Function at BYP covers multiple revenue lines and our Community growth project.  The current Product and Engineering team consists of a junior product manager, an experienced  full-stack developer, and a small but powerful tech support duo in India. This is your opportunity  to demonstrate your leadership skills by managing the team to deliver against your Product  Development plans which directly support the company’s long-term strategy, vision and goals. 

You’ll be used to quick iteration within an ability to drive efficiency in a dynamic environment  where creativity is the norm. You don’t mind doing the work, whatever it is – you know and can  see the impact potential at the end. You’re in it for the long haul! 

Responsibilities

  • Member of the management team, contributes to company strategy, vision and goals.
  • Create, socialises and updates the strategic Product Roadmap according to Business Objectives.
  • Plans and executes the product development priorities across the business in line with the roadmap, clearly communicating the opportunities and trade-offs.
  • Establishes quarterly objectives and tracks performance metrics aligned to the overall business goals
  • Constantly evolves processes and team practices to improve quality and speed of delivery.
  • Lead and manage a team of in house and external resources to manage development of both internal and 3rd Party platforms.
  • Hands on ability to quickly iterate, test and demonstrate product ideas with the internal team and commercial partner network.
  • Lead on all Product Development activities including gathering requirements from multiple stakeholders, evaluating different technologies, making the final platform recommendations.
  • All standard PM responsibilities like managing day to day product planning & delivery, maintaining a groomed backlog, communication, document product requirements, etc.
  • Develop the Junior Product Manager to scope, prototype & “productise” activities across Community and revenue lines with a view to scaling all user interactions into one platform.
  • Drive product launches by working with the sales, marketing team.
  • Act as the product evangelist by building awareness and understanding with key strategic partners and users for wider network adoption.

 

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering a product from ideation to launch and rapid scale.
  • Ability to break large projects into manageable pieces, prioritising according to value.
  • Experience working on multiple products concurrently desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of product development through the entire lifecyle.
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience in software development or web technologies.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Effective at delivering recommendations for the product development to technical and non-technical members of the organisation and partner network.

Senior Full Stack Software Developer

BYP Network is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our small Engineering & Product team. The role will require you to help us achieve BYP’s goals through the design, implementation, and growth of our in-house platform.

To be successful in this role you will need an array of personal strengths – software development skills, an ability to respond well in a dynamic environment, strong communication skills, leadership experience, high drive, a solid understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem, and an ability to work under your own initiative.

You will be a full time software developer building the BYP Platform, and helping improve and manage the existing products.

Purpose of the Job

  • Designing and implementing server-side and client-side software to deliver products and features as required by the business.
  • Implementing design requests on the front end.
  • Using feedback from key stakeholders and key metrics to measure the success of the work, and adjust plans accordingly to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software.
  • Owning the software once developed, using key result metrics to measure success, and DevOps tools to track and respond to issues.
  • Following the principles of Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration.
  • Creating readable, secure, easily expandable, reusable, testable, and efficient code.
  • Research and develop strategies for efficient software development.
  • Pro-actively collaborating with all involved parties to deliver the most useful result. 
  • Designing, growing, and maintaining the software architecture.

 

Requirements

Must have:

  • Understanding of scalable software practices.
  • A clear understanding of ethical and legal data processing requirements and related issues. 
  • A security-minded approach to software design and development.
  • 4 years minimum of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js, both front-end and back-end.
  • A solid understanding of modern JavaScript patterns, such as asynchronous programming.
  • A solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work with people from a wide range of business departments to understand their requirements and feedback.
  • At last 4 years of professional experience delivering and maintaining complete products and systems.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, multiple Agile software development processes.
  • An understanding of BYP’s mission and how the software development process ties in.
  • Experience with continuous development in a professional setting.
  • Experience and opinions with pair programming.
  • Experience with git.

WordPress Developer

£24k – £34k

Key skills: WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, PHP

BYP Network is seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to join our small Engineering & Product team. The role will require you to help us achieve BYP’s goals through the management, implementation, and growth of our in-house websites.

To be successful in this role you will need an array of key skills – plenty of experience with WordPress, an ability to respond well in a dynamic environment, strong communication skills, a solid understanding of the WordPress plugin ecosystem, the skills to implement designs, and an ability to work under your own initiative.

You will be a full time developer managing and helping with the BYP websites.

Purpose of the Job

  • Designing and implementing solutions within our WordPress sites to deliver products and features as required by the business.
  • Implementing design requests on the front end.
  • Create or manage plugins to create dynamic pages as needed.
  • Using feedback from stakeholders and key metrics to measure the success of the work, and adjust plans accordingly to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities

  • Development, deployment, and maintenance of our WordPress websites.
  • Tracking and responding to issues.
  • Turn designs into WordPress pages and themes.
  • If you’re writing any code or plugin, the code must be readable, easily expandable, reusable, and efficient.
  • Research and develop strategies for efficient development and implementation.
  • Pro-actively collaborating with all involved parties to deliver the most useful result. 

 

Requirements

Must have:

  • Strong proficiency with WordPress and the plugin ecosystem.
  • A good understanding of modern WordPress development patterns.
  • A good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with WordPress security.
  • Knowledge of the various different WordPress design systems.
